Jacqui is originally from the suburbs of Chicago, a hardworking mid-westerner. She and her husband came to Citrus Hills on a discovery package and fell in love with the world-class amenities which were on a budget they could afford. It was too good to be true, as a skeptical mid-westerner, she wanted to try it before they bought it. They rented a villa in Terra Vista for a month to see what it would be like to live here. They loved the amenities – the golf, Skyview food, the spa, and dancing the night away at the Tiki Bar. And even more, they found themselves in the heart of the Nature Coast, where Mike could boat traveling back in time down the canals of Crystal River, swim with the manatee, spot dolphin and catch fish, all just less than 20 minutes away. It was more than a government worker and a 5th-grade teacher could hope for in their retirement.
Jacqui wasn’t ready to retire. She was a full-time teacher for over twenty years and had always had to supplement her income with real estate. She applied at our brokerage and her first sale was her own home in Citrus Hills. Jacqui achieved over $3.5 million in sales her first year with Berkshire Hathaway, representing both buyers and sellers. In her second year here, she joins the Brentwood Team bringing her understanding of the process of retirement planning and moving across the country away from friends and family. Jacqui and her husband were drawn to Florida due to the weather, but the fact that Florida collects no state tax on pensions or income was also very attractive, as well as the homestead exemption for having your primary home here. Jacqui understands the uncertainty and worries of retirement and relocation as she worked through them herself. She understands that these decisions take time and planning. She works with buyers and sellers at their own pace.
Jacqui has been a realtor and educator in California, Utah, Virginia, and now Florida. She graduated high school at 16 years of age and received her B.A. from Western Illinois University. Her Master’s degree is in curriculum and instruction. She adores her two granddaughters who live in Alabama and hopes that her mother will relocate to Citrus Hills this year. Jacqui enjoys boating, metal detecting, and oil painting when she can find the time.
